As a tech consultant, I collaborated with an IBM partner company to make IBM's cloud products accessible from its cloud brokerage platform.

The initial implementation used the Apache Foundation's Libcloud library and demonstrated the core functionality required to access the SoftLayer cloud from the broker. However, the testing revealed a number of performance and functionality deficiencies in the Libcloud/SoftLayer binding. I integrated a Scrum team of 10 engineers.
The initial implementation used the Apache Foundation's Libcloud library and demonstrated the core functionality required to access the SoftLayer cloud from the broker. However, the testing revealed a number of performance and functionality deficiencies in the Libcloud/SoftLayer binding. I consequently adapted the implementation, using the native SoftLayer Python API to avoid the Libcloud performance problems and have added a new feature—vertical scaling.
Functional and non-functional tests were carried out.
I successfully delivered a SoftLayer "cloud connector" that is part of the current production release of the broker and that has enhanced the business opportunities for both the partner and IBM.
